Audi is Volkswagen Group's premium brand, sold against BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Coverage on a new car is straightforward: a 4-year/50,000-mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty, a 12-year limited warranty against corrosion perforation, and four years of roadside assistance. The change that matters most to a lessee is newer. Audi Club North America reports that the 2026 lineup includes Audi Signature Care, covering the scheduled services at 1 year/10,000 miles, 2 years/20,000 miles and 3 years/30,000 miles (whichever comes first) plus one brake fluid service — and it applies to leased cars, not only purchased ones. On a typical 36-month lease, that absorbs essentially every routine service visit.

Reliability is the honest caveat. Motor1, reporting J.D. Power's 2026 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study of three-year-old (2023 model year) vehicles, puts Audi at 244 problems per 100 vehicles against a 204 industry average and a 217 premium-segment average — among the study's ten weakest brands. A 36-month lease sits inside the 4-year/50,000-mile warranty, which is what blunts that risk.

Depreciation is the plain reason leasing dominates this segment. iSeeCars' March 2026 study found the average vehicle loses 41.8% of its value over five years, and that 18 of the 25 fastest-depreciating models were luxury cars, including the Audi Q5 hybrid at 58.2%, the A8 L at 57.6% and the Q7 at 57.2%. Leasing charges you for the years you actually use.

quattro, Audi's all-wheel drive, launched in 1980; longitudinal-engine models use a self-locking center differential that normally splits torque 40:60 front to rear and can shift up to 80% rearward. Naming runs A (sedans) and Q (SUVs), S for Sport, RS — RennSport, built by Audi Sport GmbH — at the top, and e-tron for the electrified cars.
