Land Rover Lease Deals
Range Rover, Defender and Discovery leases across NY, NJ and CT — with an honest read on what these SUVs cost to own.
Leasing a Land Rover
Land Rover is an SUV-only British marque, and its US lineup splits into three families: Range Rover (Evoque, Velar, Sport and the flagship Range Rover), Defender, and Discovery (Discovery and Discovery Sport). Range Rover is the luxury half of the brand, Defender the deliberately utilitarian one, Discovery the practical middle.
Off-road hardware is the common thread. Land Rover describes Terrain Response 2 as a patented system letting you select General Driving, Grass/Gravel/Snow, Mud & Ruts, Sand or Rock Crawl, plus an Auto setting that the company says "reconfigures transmission, suspension and traction settings for maximum drivability in almost all conditions."
On coverage, Land Rover USA lists a 4-year/50,000-mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty with roadside assistance for the same period, a six-year unlimited-mileage corrosion perforation warranty, and 8 years/100,000 miles on plug-in hybrid traction batteries. Routine maintenance is not included — Land Rover sells a separate Prepaid Scheduled Maintenance Plan, purchased before your first service interval or financed with the vehicle.
Now the part brochures skip. Consumer Reports' 2026 Brand Report Card placed Land Rover among its bottom five brands, alongside Dodge, GMC, Rivian and Jeep; CR doesn't rank the brand for reliability at all, because too few Land Rover models met its data threshold. J.D. Power's 2026 Vehicle Dependability Study, which surveys three-year-old 2023 vehicles, scored Land Rover at 274 problems per 100 vehicles — near the bottom, against 151 for class-leading Lexus. And iSeeCars' 2026 depreciation study found the Range Rover shed 61.7% of its value over five years, roughly $69,856, with the Range Rover Sport at 58.3% and the Discovery at 57.9% — against a 41.8% average across all vehicles.
That combination, steep depreciation plus repair exposure once coverage lapses, is precisely why most of these leave the lot on a lease.

Why lease a Land Rover through Swift Autos
A dealership sells you the cars sitting on its own lot, at the terms its own store is willing to write. We're a broker: we work across franchise inventory in the tri-state area, compare what different Land Rover lenders and stores will actually do on the same vehicle, and bring you the version that lands cheapest for the term and mileage you need.
Practically, that means you're not spending Saturdays in three showrooms to discover the same trim quoted three ways. You tell us the model, trim, term and annual mileage; we come back with a real, itemized number — money factor, residual, fees, taxes — and deliver to you in NY, NJ or CT. If the math doesn't beat what you've been quoted, we'll tell you that too.
Land Rover lease questions
Are Land Rovers reliable? Give me the honest answer.
The public data isn't flattering. Consumer Reports put Land Rover in the bottom five of its 2026 Brand Report Card, and doesn't rank the brand for reliability at all because too few models met its data minimum. J.D. Power's 2026 dependability study scored the brand at 274 problems per 100 three-year-old vehicles, well behind leaders like Lexus at 151. Lease terms are built around exactly this.
Does the factory warranty cover my entire lease?
Usually, yes — that's the point. Land Rover USA's New Vehicle Limited Warranty runs 4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first, with roadside assistance over the same period. A typical 24-to-39-month lease at 7,500 or 10,000 miles a year finishes inside both limits, so mechanical repairs stay the manufacturer's responsibility rather than yours. Push mileage higher and you can outrun the 50,000-mile ceiling first.
Is scheduled maintenance included with a new Land Rover?
No. Land Rover USA doesn't bundle complimentary scheduled maintenance with a new vehicle; oil and filter changes, brake fluid and inspections are your cost. The company sells a Prepaid Scheduled Maintenance Plan instead, which must be bought before your first service interval or financed alongside the vehicle. Budget for it, or price the prepaid plan into the deal before you sign — we'll quote both.
Why do people lease Land Rovers instead of buying them?
Two reasons, both financial. Depreciation is severe: iSeeCars measured 61.7% five-year value loss on the Range Rover, roughly $69,856, versus a 41.8% average across all vehicles. And repairs get expensive once the 4-year/50,000-mile warranty expires. A lease fixes the resale value in your contract and ends while coverage is still live, so you carry neither risk.
What is Terrain Response 2, and does it matter in the Northeast?
It's Land Rover's patented drive-mode system, offering General Driving, Grass/Gravel/Snow, Mud & Ruts, Sand and Rock Crawl settings, plus an Auto mode that the company says reconfigures transmission, suspension and traction settings for maximum drivability in almost all conditions. For tri-state drivers, the Grass/Gravel/Snow and Auto settings are the ones that earn their keep in a February storm.
Which Land Rover family should I be looking at?
Land Rover USA groups its lineup three ways. Range Rover — Evoque, Velar, Sport, and the flagship — is the luxury line, and where depreciation bites hardest, which often makes it the strongest lease case. Defender is the rugged, boxy option. Discovery and Discovery Sport sit in between on space and price. Tell us your budget and mileage and we'll narrow it.
