Kia Lease Deals
Kia's full lease lineup, the 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty explained for lessees, and how resale value shapes what you actually pay monthly.
Leasing a Kia
Kia is now one of the largest mainstream brands in America. Kia America reported 852,155 vehicles sold in 2025 — up 7 percent on 2024 and its third consecutive annual record — through a network of nearly 800 US dealers.
The warranty, read properly. Kia publishes a 10-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty, a 5-year/60,000-mile basic limited warranty, a 5-year/100,000-mile anti-perforation warranty, 5-year/60,000-mile roadside assistance, and 10-year/100,000-mile coverage on EV and hybrid high-voltage systems. The detail that matters on a lease sits in Kia's own warranty manual: an "Original Owner" is defined as the first retail purchaser or lessee, and the powertrain warranty is not transferable to subsequent owners. So as the lessee you hold the full term — and Kia's manual states that if the lessee buys the vehicle at lease end, the 120-month/100,000-mile powertrain warranty remains in effect.
Reliability. J.D. Power's 2026 Vehicle Dependability Study surveyed 33,268 original owners of 2023 model-year vehicles at three years of ownership. Kia scored 193 problems per 100 vehicles against a 204 industry average, ninth among the brands ranked.
Safety. Four 2026 Kias hold the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award: the K4, EV9, Sorento (built after September 2025) and Sportage (built after May 2025). Kia counts 16 standard collision-avoidance and driver-assist features on the K4.
Resale — the honest caveat. Kia won nothing in Kelley Blue Book's 2026 Best Resale Value Awards. iSeeCars' 2026 data is split by model: the Rio retained 68.4 percent of value over five years and the K4 64.5 percent, while the EV9 retained 37.2 percent and the EV6 40.9 percent. Resale sets residuals, and residuals set the payment.

Why lease a Kia through Swift Autos
A dealership sells the cars sitting on its own lot, at the number its desk decides that day. A broker works the other direction. You tell us the model, trim, term and mileage; we shop that spec across the Kia dealers we work with in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. We re-check Kia's manufacturer lease programs as they change each month, so your quote is built on the current money factor, residual and regional support rather than last month's. Before you sign, you see the structure in writing: capitalized cost, residual, money factor, term, mileage allowance, taxes, fees and cash due at signing. We deliver to you. We can't conjure a deal the program doesn't support — we can make sure you're seeing the real one.
Kia lease questions
Does Kia's 10-year/100,000-mile warranty apply to me if I lease?
Yes. Kia's Warranty and Consumer Information Manual defines an Original Owner as the first retail purchaser or lessee who takes delivery on the date of first service, so as a lessee you hold the full 120-month/100,000-mile powertrain term. The manual also states that if the lessee buys the vehicle at lease end, that coverage remains in effect. It does not transfer to a later owner.
Which parts of the Kia warranty actually matter over a two- or three-year lease?
Mostly the 5-year/60,000-mile basic limited warranty, since nearly every lease ends well inside it. Kia also publishes a 5-year/60,000-mile roadside assistance program, a 5-year/100,000-mile anti-perforation warranty, and 10-year/100,000-mile coverage on EV and hybrid high-voltage systems. The headline 10-year powertrain term becomes relevant mainly if you exercise the lease buyout and keep the car.
Is Kia reliable enough that a lease stays low-hassle?
J.D. Power's 2026 Vehicle Dependability Study asked 33,268 original owners of 2023 model-year vehicles about problems at three years — roughly the length of a typical lease. Kia recorded 193 problems per 100 vehicles against a 204 industry average, placing ninth among ranked brands and ahead of Mazda (210) and Honda (211). Lexus led overall at 151.
How do Kias perform in independent crash testing?
The IIHS lists four 2026 Kias as Top Safety Pick+ winners: the K4, the EV9, the Sorento built after September 2025 and the Sportage built after May 2025. That top award requires good ratings in the small-overlap front, moderate-overlap front and side tests, acceptable or good headlights, and standard good pedestrian front crash prevention.
Does Kia hold its value well?
Not at the very top of the market, and it varies sharply by model. No Kia appeared among Kelley Blue Book's 2026 Best Resale Value award winners, where Toyota took the brand award. iSeeCars' 2026 figures show the Rio retaining 68.4 percent of value after five years and the Forte 65.2 percent, while the EV9 retained 37.2 percent. Pick the model, not the badge.
Why do Kia EV lease numbers behave so differently from the gas models?
Residual value — what the car is projected to be worth at lease end — is the single biggest input into a lease payment. iSeeCars' 2026 data shows Kia EVs retaining far less than its gas cars over five years: 37.2 percent for the EV9 and 40.9 percent for the EV6 versus 64.5 percent for the K4. A lower residual raises the payment unless manufacturer support offsets it, which is why EV quotes move so much month to month.
